Marriage Course

Attended 2 days marriage course over the last weekend.
Alot of takeaways from the session and was put to test immediately.
I am comforted by the fact that we have a direction to follow.
We have Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him) as a role model.
We an always take references.

It is so "heavy" to be in a marriage.
There are so many things to look out for, yet you have to constantly put in effort to sustain.
Life is going to be very different.
It was also a time for us to ask important questions, know each other bettter.
know what to and know what not to.

At one point I was so scared of being in a failed marriage.
I teared.
It was a video but I saw us.
It was exactly our problem.
that we have not addressed.

May we continue to be committed to each other and more importantly, our Faith.Insha'Allah
may He bless us with pious kids and a ticket to the Hereafter.

There will be lots of challenges ahead.
I may do things that I do not like, but if it is for the Hereafter,
He will give me the strength to.

Suddenly... the fancy clothes no longer matter. who are we trying to please?
Are we guaranteed tomorrow?
Is our wedding a celebration or a show-off.

many questions running through my head.

A reflection

Islam is a way of life.
Everyday I struggle to fulfill my responsibilities as a Muslim.
I have learnt alot, and of course there are definitely more to learn :)

I am trying my best but not quite there yet
obligatory prayers
forgiving toxic people in life
smile when times are hard
speak good, otherwise remain silent
dress modestly
anger management

May Allah s.w.t. continue to guide me

World Hijab Day 2016

Firstly, Alhamdulillah! for making the event happen.
Many thanks to the organisers for making it happen.

It has been such a humbling experience to hear and meet fellow sisters
who are exactly in the same shoes, facing the same problems.
some of them have been muslims for years
while really, i am just a baby of 3 mths.

My road so far alhamdulillah, has been relatively smooth,
when it comes to friends accommodating food choices etc.
I still struggle with my prayers 5 times a day,
dressing up well yet modestly.
soooo many.

It was never me against fellow muslims to see who is more religious than who
it was always me vs me.

Tried on the hijab for the first time and it was like SO DIFFICULT.
ok, exactly the same response when I first learnt prayers.
I felt it was just impossible to memorise??
But yes, thank God i managed to internalise and memorise most of it.
still learning of course....

May Allah grant us all ease for our affairs and struggles.
Insha'Allah we will make it together!

2 mths +

Time flies and Alhamdulillah!
all has been good.
I wake up every morning with greater purpose,
finding reasons to be thankful.

I am happy, blessed with what I have.
everything happens for a reason, right?
passed 1 exam, bosses have been understanding towards my silly mistakes. can't ask for more. Thankful! Lastly, i miss Ramadhan!!! :(
